Newsletter/Yearbook



INSTRUCTOR - DIANA CONSUEGRA
This class will take over the production of the school newsletter. We will analyze and evaluate other newspapers and publications and apply what we have learned to the creation of the newsletter. We will work through the writing process by writing articles about our school and our school community. We will learn and explore the program Pages as we design and create the newsletter. We will interview students and staff about school events and classes.

MINNESOTA STATE STANDARDS:
1.Edit writing for correct grammar, capitalization, punctuation, spelling, verb tense.
2.sentence structure, and paragraphing to enhance clarity and readability.
3.Arrange paragraphs into a logical progression.
4.Generate, gather, and organize ideas for writing.
5.Develop a thesis and clear purpose for writing.
6.Make generalizations and use supporting details.
7.Arrange paragraphs into a logical progression.
8.Revise writing for clarity, coherence, smooth transitions and unity.

Make informed evaluations about television, radio, film productions, newspapers and magazines with regard to quality of production, accuracy of information, bias, purpose, message and audience.
